Measure the inside of your fire pit opening at its widest point, then pick your size. Three of them cover almost everything people build.
| Opening 27" to 35" | 24" firebox, round | 37" outer brim |
| Opening 27" to 35" | 24" firebox, square | 37" outer brim |
| Opening 36" to 44" | 32" firebox, round | 46" outer brim |
If the pit is already built and you have spent too many nights moving your chair to get out of the smoke, this drops straight into the opening you have.
The Comfort II is a double wall insert. Air pulls in through the lower vents, heats as it rises between the two walls, and feeds back into the fire through the upper ring. That second burn takes most of the smoke out of it. No fan, no power, no assembly. Set it in and you are finished.
It is a complete bowl, not a bare ring. The floor is a raised vented log rest, so air gets under the fire and the ash has somewhere to fall instead of sitting on dirt or gravel.
The outer brim rests on top of your stone and overlaps the lip of the opening. That brim does more work than it looks like. It keeps flame and radiant heat off the block, and heat cycling against masonry is what opens up mortar joints and spalls the face off manufactured stone a few seasons in.
What arrives: the insert and a snuffer lid sized to it. Set the lid on when you are done for the night and it smothers the fire, then keeps rain and leaves out of the bowl until the next one.
Hand built in the U.S. from heavy gauge steel, finished in high temperature paint.
